Agriculture and agro processing are key strategic industries that can grow and transform the South African economy. The industries have the potential to play a pivotal role to build and accelerate sustainable, equitable and inclusive economic growth through forward and backward linkages within the value chain, The province's agricultural production resource and capability support the development of a world class agro-processing and agro industry value chains at MMSEZ. MMSEZ's agro-processing cluster, provides an opportunity to build an integrated agro-industrial value chain, with a special focus on agro-processing and agro-logistics. Similarly, MMSEZ enjoys a competitive advantage resulting from natural endowment of microclimate advantage suitable for production of various high value agricultural commodities in the Limpopo Province.

General and Light Manufacturing
Limpopo province and the Beitbridge border are commonly known as the gateway to Africa, providing proximity to an extensive network of African markets. The MMSEZ, with its strategic geographical location, is positioned to produce goods through its manufacturing cluster to trade with the rest of Africa within the African Continental Free Trade Area pact.

Container Yard/Truck Park/Bonded Yard for Vehicle Exports: The North site will house a container yard, a truck park for transport vehicles and a bonded yard for vehicles awaiting export
Warehousing: MMSEZ is a convenient location for warehousing for the storage of goods, incoming or outgoing. Bonded warehouses will allow goods to be cleaned, sorted or repacked under customs supervision.
Cold Storage: South Africa is a major exporter of fresh fruit and vegetables. The perishable nature of fresh produce demands reliable cold storage facilities which will be located at MMSEZS north site.
Fresh Produce Handling: The proximity to Limpopo’s agricultural area makes MMSEZ an excellent location to handle fresh produce for export or local consumption in South Africa.
Logistics
Musina Makhado SEZ is ideally positioned to serve as a logistics hub that can link economic activities with global value chains. The north site is adjacent to the border with Zimbabwe and close to South Africa's busiest border crossing at Beitbridge. MMSEZ is astride the north-south transport corridor. The N1 road links Cape Town to Musina via Johannesburg and Polokwane, the Limpopo provincial capital. There are rail links to the Port of Maputo. Johannesburg and Durban. South Africa enjoys duty and quota- 01 free access to 15 SADC countries. The African Continental Free Trade Area potentially opens up preferential trading opportunities with another 38 countries. Musina is the gateway to SADC and the wider markets beyond. MMSEZ's strategic location provides competitive advantage with logistics facilities that can create and enhance operational efficiencies through the efficient movement of goods and promotion of Just-in-Time
